Neighborhood Meetings Hear from Senate Candidate Jim Neal
Neal Reaches Out to Thousands of Grassroots Democrats
At 7:30 pm on Tuesday evening, 15,000 to 20,000 people in every county across the state will be gathering at precinct meetings. It’s politics at the most local, grassroots level as regular citizens meet to elect delegates to their county Democratic Party conventions.
And Jim Neal, the Greensboro native running for U.S. Senate, will be there.
Neal is reaching out to precinct chairmen and has sent campaign materials for every meeting - bumper stickers and buttons - to distribute to local activists, along with a letter thanking attendees for their civic involvement.
In addition, prior to Tuesday’s meeting Neal’s campaign called and made personal contact with 1,200 precinct chairs from Wilkes to Carteret, from Orange to Mecklenburg and all other counties inbetween.
Most people think of political campaigns as TV and radio commercials. But Neal’s message to the thousands of citizens can’t be tuned out or lost in the static of the airwaves - he is reaching people on a personal level. Neal’s sending a strong message of commitment to local activists like no other campaign has ever done.
“This campaign is about involving the people of North Carolina in our government,” Neal says. “Democracy doesn’t begin and end on Election Day. Every day we’re reaching out to people across the state and listening to their concerns and their ideas. And we will continue to do that when I am Senator.”
“For years, we’ve had a Senator that’s shortchanged her constituents. We will change that this November and take our government back so it works for everyone,” Neal says.
Neal will be attending precinct meetings in person this Tuesday in Davidson and Huntersville in Mecklenburg County.
